This diptych of ‘light drawings’ — Physical Lines of Force and The Ratios of Light — represents a visual stream of consciousness that explores and ties together the phenomenon of light and that of consciousness. They are inextricably linked to create life and meaning in our universe. Peppered with natural elements such as flowers, plants, and birds, as well as physical and mathematical diagrams and symbols such as the Golden Ratio, electromagnetic beams, and Feynman diagrams, these large intricate drawings ultimately celebrate the multifaceted colours, contours, and complexities of life itself.

Physical Lines of Force

Lines of force erupt from a single still point and rush outward as ribboned, twisting beams — physical energy made visible. Around them a whole world assembles: mountains and pyramids, a small bird lifting into the sun, a white-rumped vulture mid-flight, faces watching from every margin, and the quiet geometry of spirals and triangles.

It reads like a field diagram for the living world, where the same laws that bend light and move matter also move birds, plants and thought.

The Ratios of Light

A luminous figure sits haloed by his own sun, one open hand releasing a spectrum of light that unspools in twisting, rainbow-beaded strands. A sunflower blooms at his centre — its seed-spiral the golden ratio made flesh — while a hawk wheels overhead and green growth presses in from the edges.

Here light is measured and alive at once: the ratios that order a sunflower, a wing and a beam of colour are shown ordering the man himself.
