Moire Cell
Polycarbonate sheets, SS rivets and rings, digitally designed transparent stickers.
This tetrahedron is composed only of equilateral triangles. Each transparent face carries two layers of an equilateral-triangle tessellation, and as the structure expands and contracts, a three-fold moiré pattern is revealed through the rotation — a regular analog animation in which the grid and the structure share one threefold symmetry. Built from the single simplest repeating cell, it is the simplest 3D moiré pattern: a self-consistent, synchronous, and self-similar motion of just triangles.
